Hi, I’m Amy. I’ve been there.
Mom, certified coach, and the woman behind Ruth Fitness & Nutrition.
My story
For years, I tried everything to lose weight. I did hours of cardio, cut my food way back, and still felt stuck and hopeless.
Everything changed when I finally asked for help. I learned I didn’t need to punish my body with cardio or restrict food. I needed to prioritize strength and movement, and follow a plan that actually fit my life. I lost 25 pounds, and for the first time it felt sustainable. That’s when my passion for training women started.
Then I got pregnant and gained 60 pounds. This time, I didn’t rush my body. I was patient, supported my recovery, and trusted the same basics. Over time, I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight and body fat percentage without obsessing over the scale.
I know how much it matters to have someone walk through this with you, because that’s what changed everything for me. Now I get to be that person for other women.
How I coach
Strength comes first
Lifting builds the muscle that shapes your body, boosts your metabolism and keeps you strong for life. No endless cardio required.
Every season counts
Your body and your life change. The basics stay the same, but your plan and tools should change with you.
It’s all about balance
I tried the restrictive route. It made me miserable and it never lasted. What finally worked was learning balance: eating the foods I love, most of the time choosing what fuels me, and never feeling guilty about the rest. That’s what I’ll teach you, too.
